Conor McGregor has continued to troll Floyd Mayweather, hoping to secure a rematch with the retired boxer.
The UFC star lost his professional boxing debut to Mayweather by a 10th-round technical knockout in August at the T-mobile Arena in Las Vegas, but took to social media on Monday to claim under mixed martial arts rules he would do more than just end the 40-year-old's career.
"Shin bone to the cheek bone. The rule set kept you out the funeral home," he wrote alongside a digitally altered photo of him attempting a kick to Mayweather's face.
Mayweather, who reached a perfect 50-0 with the win over McGregor, but was briefly reported to be entertaining the thought of fighting in the UFC cage, before dismissing that information as being false rumors just before Christmas.
After Mayweather rejected the idea of fighting in the UFC, McGregor trolled him, calling him a "p*ssy."
But the former pound-for-pound king has already made it very clear that McGregor would be his final career fight - boxing or otherwise.
While McGregor was struck down by Mayweather's superior boxing skills in August, it was a bout of the flu which had him floored over the holiday period.
The Mirror newspaper reported him as saying on Instagram that he had to cancel his New Year's Eve plans after being struck down by the "Australian flu".
"Well that was a wild New Year's Eve. Half the family hit with the Australian flu virus and some even left in hospital with it. I've never even been to Australia wtf.
"One of the most intense few days I've gone thru. Big New Year's Eve party cancelled at the last minute and I am left shaking in bed the past two days. I'll leave that with the rest of the bad behind me in 2017 and take with me the many great experiences I've had this year!
"None greater than the birth of my son Conor Jr. and the continued support of my family, my friends and my dedicated staff through thick and thin.
"Thank you all and happy New Year to everyone! 2018 I may go back to the back pages instead of the front pages again but I have a feeling these journalists now just want me in the obituary pages so we shall see."
