Promoter Lou DiBella's Broadway Boxing came to Downtown Cipriani, located on Wall Street in Downtown Manhattan. On the card, Lightweight Jorge Teron (18-0-1, 11KOs) won a unanimous eight-round decision over Mike Gonzalez (10-2, 9KOs). Gonzalez returned home to New York to make a statement, but was soundly beaten by the rising prospect Teron. The scores were 80-72, 80-72 and 79-73.
Heavyweight Michael Grant (43-3, 33KOs) continued his comeback by stopping Kevin Montiy (17-4-1, 13KOs) in seven rounds. Grant sent Montiy to the floor in rounds six and seven.
Super middleweight James "Buddy" McGirt, Jr. (17-0, 9KOs) won an easy eight-round decision over journeyman Thomas Reid (35-19-1, 13 KOs). The scores were 80-72, 80-72 and 80-71. McGirt returns to the ring on October 30 at the Seminole Hard Rock in Florida.
Middleweight prospect Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin (15-0, 12KOs) won a six-round decision over Jesse Orta (7-11-1, 4KOs). After hurting Orta in the second and knocking him down, Quillin was unable to finish him off down the stretch. The scores were 60-53 on all three cards. Quillin really needs to take a step up in competition, these opponents are not even worthy of a keep busy snack.
Female junior lightweight prospect Maureen "The Real Million Dollar Baby" Shea (12-0, 6KOs) stopped Jessica Mohs (7-16-2, 2KOs) in two rounds.
In a battle of heavyweights, Israel Garcia (17-1, 10KOs) stopped Mike Jones (6-12, 2KOs) in the second round.
