Former world champion and Sky Sports analyst Glenn McCrory believes IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs) is capable of shocking the heavily favored WBC/IBO/IBF/WBA middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

Brook is coming two divisions and thirteen pounds. Their fight takes place on September 10th at the O2 Arena in London. HBO and Sky Sports Box Office will carry the contest.

Eyebrows were raised a few days ago when Brook was much heavier than Golovkin at the WBC's mandatory 30-day weight check. Brook came in at 176-pounds, while Golovkin was 165-pounds.

McCrory says Golovkin vs. Brook is not in the same league as the May encounter between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Amir Khan. In that contest Khan was moving up by eight pounds to a catch-weight of 155 and was viciously knocked out in six rounds.

Both fighters have long unbeaten records and McCrory views the fight as a big test for both boxers.

"Yeah I definitely give Kell Brook a chance. I think when Amir Khan vs. Canelo was announced, I thought the fight was a silly fight and I didn’t give Khan a chance. It’s definitely a tough opportunity for Kell Brook, but Kell Brook is undefeated in thirty six fights, they have two of the longest stretches of undefeated records," McCrory told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.

"Kell’s a very big welterweight and Golovkin is not particularly a big middleweight, so I think that’s going to make a difference. Also the fact that we don’t know how good Kell can really be, he hasn’t been tested. There’s a reputation about Golovkin, where yes he’s good, yes he hits hard, but we still haven’t seen him tested against any big names."

"I think it’s an excellent fight, at this minute I’m leaning towards ‘GGG’ but it’s a fight I definitely think Kell Brook can win and I’m just waiting to see that. I just want to see the buildup to see what sort of temperament Kell Brook comes in with, because if he comes into the fight thinking he can win, there’s a great chance he can."
