WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin is willing to come down to 154-pounds for a "dream fight" with WBC/WBA/WBO welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. - who also holds the WBA/WBC world titles at the junior middleweight limit.

Golovkin is back in action on Saturday night, facing Willie Monroe Jr. in Los Angeles. Mayweather, who beat Manny Pacquiao by decision last Saturday night in Las Vegas, wants to return to the ring in September.

Floyd Sr., father and trainer, does not like the size difference between his son and Golovkin. Mayweather walks around at 150-152-pounds when he's not training. Floyd Sr. believes Golovkin would squeeze down to 154-pounds and then rehydrate on the night of the fight to 180-pounds.

“I would say something about this Triple G. This Triple G...hey...if GGG can make weight that would be different. We are not fitting to fight no damn giant. I’m going to tell you like this right here. He comes down, he'll be at 154, [but] by the time he eats and fights that night....maybe [he'll be at] 180, you just don’t know. People can eat up stuff, and hey - he don’t need to fight nobody like that," Floyd Sr. told Pro Boxing Insider.

While saying that, Floyd Sr. does not discount the possibility of his son pulling off the victory. He admits it won't be easy because of Golovkin's size and strength, but still tabs his son to pull it off.

“Now they say that Floyd won’t beat him, but I’m just telling you because the guy is probably just so big and strong. Floyd probably, all he would be doing is he’d take a lot of punches. He’d come in [and] Floyd would run the stuff off of him. But the whole thing is, it would be a struggle....but Floyd probably could beat him. I can’t say that he can’t beat him,” Mayweather Sr. said.
