There's nothing like fight week in Las Vegas, NV especially for a bout of the magnitude of Floyd Mayweather vs. Saul " Canelo" Alvarez. The fighters said their final words at the press conference Wednesday afternoon as now all that's left for them to do is make weight and get ready to tangle on Saturday night.
Mayweather's trainer and father Floyd Mayweather Sr gave his last thoughts as well when he spoke to BoxingScene. This fight will mark the second time Floyd Mayweather Sr has been back in command of his son's corner as they have rekindled their relationship and started training together again earlier this year.
Mayweather is the strong favorite to win Saturday night and Mayweather Sr feels they'll be able to wear down Alvarez and he points to Alvarez's last fight with Austin Trout as the proof.
"One thing I saw in the Trout fight was [Trout] never went to the body. Never hit him one time. And guess what? [Canelo] ran out of gas. Nobody took the gas out of his tank. So when you run out of gas like that, you know what time its going to be. Its time to have some fun" said Mayweather Sr with a smile.
Alvarez's did appear to tire out by the mid rounds of the Trout fight back in April and his stamina has been questioned in past as well. It was said he would get a strength and conditioning coach to assist but Mayweather Sr still believes his son will be able to stop the undefeated Mexican champion.
"I believe we're going to stop him. Me and [Floyd] got a plan set up that we plan on doing. It'll just be a matter of time. I think everything is good and [Canelo is] probably going to get stopped" Mayweather Sr would tell BoxingScene.
With just a few days left we'll get to see if Floyd Sr's prediction will come to fruition.
