MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) retained his WBC welterweight title and his unbeaten record with a convincing points victory over Robert Guerrero. Floyd showed little sign of ring rust in his first bout for over a year as he weathered an early storm and dominated the laters rounds to earn a unanimous decision 117-111 on all three cards.

After the fight, Mayweather indicated that he hurt his right hand during the fight. However, he said the injury would not postpone a potential return on September 14th at the MGM Grand.

"We did it again," said Mayweather after his 44th victory. "I take my hat off to Robert Guerrero. He's a true warrior. I do plan to fight again in September. I will fight September."
