At the end of every year you’re hard pressed to find many scheduled boxing events but for the 9th year in a row, this is when The Watson family puts on their annual Celebrity Charity Basketball game which will be hosted by the reigning pound for pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
Sam Watson and his two sons Brandon and Marcus, will be raising money which they will be donating to the LifeDriven Foundation. Lifedriven helps children who are battling cancer and provides them access to healthcare, educates and promotes cancer awareness through screenings and grants life-changing experiences to kids who come from economically disadvantaged families.
The celebrity charity event will be taking place Sunday, December 15th at Cal State University Northridge at 4pm with general admission tickets for $10 and reserved seating for $25. For those who cannot attend the game, there will be a live stream of the event this year. Floyd Mayweather will be tweeting out the link later this week.
There will be celebrities and fighters in attendance and playing in the game such as Floyd Mayweather, Adrien Broner, Danny Garcia, Peter Quillin, Shane Mosley, Victor Ortiz, Austin Trout, Sean Porter, Anthony Dirrell and more.
The Watsons have become familiar faces in the boxing community as you often see them in the ring with some of the biggest boxing stars today but they are also known for putting on events such as this one to help out their community and give back to those less fortunate.
Floyd Mayweather has been a part of these events from the beginning and despite having reached superstar status throughout the years, he always makes sure he participates and attends these type of events as giving back is one of his main priorities.
