Matchroom has confirmed the signing of Christian “Chispa” Medina.

Medina is the reigning WBO bantamweight champion, 26-4 (19 KOs), and he won the title in September with a fourth-round victory over then 11-0 Yoshiki Takei in Nagoya, Japan.

The 26-year-old’s only other 2025 outing was a two-round win over 16-9 Mexican Juan Ramirez Marquez but Matchroom wasted no time announcing his first fight under their banner. Shortly after declaring the signing, they confirmed a homecoming for the champion, on February 6 in Guadalajara against former flyweight champion Adrian Curiel, who is 26-6-1 (5 KOs), and who has won his last two – both 10-round decisions – since consecutive defeats to South Africa’s Sivenathi Nontshinga and England’s Sunny Edwards.

The Nontshinga bout was a rematch as Curiel had previously stopped him in two rounds in Monte Carlo to claim the IBF title at flyweight.
