New York City - Miguel Marriaga (20-0, 18KOs) has no intention of withdrawing from Saturday's contest with WBA featherweight champion Nicholas ‘Axe Man’ Walters (25-0, 21KOs). They are scheduled to fight in the main event on an HBO-televised doubleheader live from Madison Square Garden Theatre in New York City.

Earlier today at the official weigh-in, Walters blew the weight-limit by coming in at 127.4-pounds. Marriaga was well within the limit at 125.2-pounds.

Walters has two hours to get down in weight. There were rumors circulating all week that Walters was struggling to shave off the last few pounds.

Marriaga's co-promoter, Ricardo Maldonado, told BoxingScene.com that his fighter is planning to go forward with the contest - even if Walters is unable to make weight in two hours. In fact, Maldonado is even more confident that his fighter will pull off the upset.
