In the latest edition of ProBox TV’s contender series, Arnold Khegai takes on Joet Gonzalez in an intriguing featherweight crossroads main event.
They will collide at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California, on Saturday, March 8, on a fight card that starts at 4.10pm. Pacific Time.
Khegai, 22-1-1 (14 KOs), brings a six-fight winning streak into the 10-round bout, and is rated in the top 15 by three of the major sanctioning bodies at 126lbs. The 32-year-old from Ukraine now lives and trains in Los Angeles, working out of the legendary Wild Card Boxing Club.
The 31-year-old Gonzalez, 26-4 (15 KO), of Los Angeles is a three-time world title challenger seeking one more run at championship glory.
The co-main event will feature the US debut of Mexican lightweight prospect Luis “Koreano” Torres, 20-1 (11 KOs), of Ciudad Obregon, Mexico in a 10-round fight against former WBA featherweight champion Nicholas Walters, 29-1-1 (22 KOs) of Montego Bay, Jamaica.
In a 10-round welterweight fight, Jesus Saracho, 14-2-1 (11 KOs) of Irapuato, Mexico will face Louie Lopez, 16-2-2 (5 KOs), of Corona, California.
The Los Angeles-based Brandon McCarthy, 4-0 (1 KOs), of Kilkenny, Ireland will clash with South Gate, California’s Jose Rodriguez, 7–2 (3 KOs) in a six-round lightweight fight. Joshua Anton, 9-0 (8 KOs), of Palmdale, California will meet Philadelphia’s Tariq Green, 5-3-2 (3 KOs), in a six-round junior middleweight fight.
Justin Viloria, 7-0 (5 KOs), of Whittier, California will meet Nicaragua’s Juan Centeno, 8-19-4 (1 KO), in a six-round junior lightweight fight. Opening up the card, welterweight Emilio Garcia of Laredo, Texas will make his professional debut against Jose “El Topo” Adolfo, 2-6 (2 KOs), of Guadalajara, Mexico in a four-round fight.
