Four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez agrees with a recent BoxingScene.com article, where Brandon Rios gave the opinion that no fighter between 140 to 154 is capable of beating Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) at the moment. Golden Boy Promotions is trying to make a fight between Mayweather and WBC/WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs). Marquez thinks Canelo could be a force to win in the future but doesn't give him much of a chance at the moment.

"There is a lot of discussion about an encounter between Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez. On this subject I can say two things: one, that 'Canelo' will always win by fighting Floyd, regardless of the outcome. If he loses to Mayweather, he really loses nothing because he would lose to the best fighter in the world and he would learn a lot. The other thing I can say is that if they announce the fight between them for September, I think it's too soon. I believe that Saul needs more [experience] for a fight like that, to meet someone like that. What happens is up to them, but if that is a fight that the fans want, then nobody can deny what the public is asking for. At the moment, in my personal opinion, I think nobody can beat him," Marquez said.
