Magsayo finished off Cruz early in the fourth round with a right hand that knocked him to the seat of his trunks.

Magsayo drilled Cruz with a swift left hook very early in the third round that sent him to the canvas for the second time in as many rounds. Cruz made it to his feet again, but he absorbed numerous power punches from Magsayo during the remainder of the third round.

Cruz clipped Magsayo with a hard right hand just before the third round ended.

Cruz caught Magsayo with a flush left hook just after the bell sounded to start the second round. Magsayo landed a left hook of his own later in the second round, but Cruz took it well.

A jarring jab by Magsayo sent Cruz to the seat of his trunks in the final minute of the second round. Cruz beat Callas’ count in plenty of time and made it to the end of the second round.

Magsayo landed a left hook to the body late in the first round and just missed with the right uppercut that came behind it.

In the first fight on the Ennis-Lipinets undercard, junior middleweight prospect Evan Holyfield defeated Nicholas Compton by unanimous decision in a four-round fight.

The 23-year-old Holyfield, a son of legendary heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, won by the same score, 39-37, on all three cards. Houston’s Holyfield improved to 6-0 and went the distance for the second time as a pro.

Minneapolis’ Compton dropped to 2-4.
