On December 3rd in New York's Madison Square Garden, Antonio Margarito will be looking for payback for everything that happened in his career over the last three years. From his big defeats to Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley, to the handwraps controversy lingering over his 2008 TKO win over Miguel Cotto - the Mexican star is eager to place everything in order when he faces Cotto for a second time with the WBA 154-pound title on the line.
"[When I beat Cotto] it changed my life. [Cotto] has not changed much since then. I think I want to box him , but with my heart I can't do it. I'm coming for revenge for everything that has happened. I know I can continue my career and still go far. After I lost to Mosley, I do not apologize. I struggled hard to make weight, and when I went into the fight I was very dehydrated and there were many problems," Margarito told Sal Rodriguez.
"And then came the fight with Pacquiao, which I thought I could win, but I had a bad strategy [in the fight], and he's an excellent fighter and it will be difficult for someone to repeat what he already accomplished. I'm pleased when [people] to tell me that I'm finished. I know Miguel Cotto is back up in the betting, and I hope that Mexicans bet on me as they did three years ago, because we are going to win."
