Marcus Browne and Brandon Glanton made weight for their cruiserweight contender bout on Wednesday in Lagos, Nigeria.
Browne of Staten Island, New York, hit the scales at 199.2lbs, while Glanton of Newman, Georgia, came in at 199.6lbs.
Browne, 25-2 (16 KOs), a former titleholder and 2012 U.S. Olympian, weighed in slightly heavier than he did for his cruiserweight debut in 2023. Browne tipped the scales at 198.5lbs. In his lone fight at cruiserweight he won a 10-round unanimous decision against Adrian Taylor. Browne, now 34, is looking to become a two-division titleholder, as he told BoxingScene earlier in the week that he had been at light heavyweight since he was 18 years old and outgrown the division.
Glanton, 20-3 (17 KOs), is a power-puncher who is a career cruiserweight with the majority of his fights taking place in the division. Glanton, 33, enters the bout coming off a high-profile loss to Chris Billam-Smith via an unanimous decision in November. Glanton is best known for his “Fight of the Year” bout in 2021 against Efetobor Apochi, which was part of a Premier Boxing Champions telecast on FOX. Glanton lost consecutive fights to David Light via a split decision and Soslan Asbarov via a majority decision before getting three straight knockouts ahead of his defeat to Billam-Smith.
The bout will stream on DAZN.
