Sources with knowledge of the details have advised BoxingScene.com that there are serious discussions taking place for a promotional agreement where Lou DiBella will represent WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (38-2-1, 26KOs) in the United States.
Huck, one of the bigger draws in the Germany market, was last seen in the ring in August when he retained his world title with a twelve round decision win over Mirko Larghetti in Halle, Germany.
After that fight, Huck decided to sit on shelf until his contract expired with longtime promoter Sauerland Event.
Now a free agent, Huck wants to invade the American market. DiBella has a close working relationship with adviser/manager Al Haymon, who has several television deals - including NBC/NBC Sports, CBS/Showtime, ESPN/ABC, and Spike TV.
DiBella, currently in Boston to promote Saturday's Dirrell-DeGale PBC card, was unavailable for comment.
BoxingScene was told the details are being worked out for Huck's next fight to take place in the United States. Contrary to reports, Roy Jones Jr. is not the frontrunner being pursued for the fight.
