The top junior middleweight contender to the WBO crown, Lukas Konecny (47-3, 22 KOs), is not surprised with the level of talent recently displayed by Polish middleweight Grzegorz Proksa (26-0, 19 KOs), who captured the EBU title at 160-pounds with a third round stoppage of former IBF king Sebastian Sylvester.

Proksa helped Konecny prepare for a September clash with Sergei Dzinziruk, which fell through when the boxer from Ukraine claimed injury. He also helped Konecny in the past.

"I know Grzegorz very well. We trained together, perhaps for 50 rounds, both before my fight with Matthew Hall, where I won the European championship, and before the canceled fight with Dzinziruk. I had the opportunity to truly see the skills of Grzegorz and I was absolutely convinced that he would defeat Sylvester. But, I did not expect him to win so easily. He dominated the German completely and I predict a great future for Grzegorz in professional boxing."
