Former welterweight champion Luis Collazo (34-5, 17KOs) is going to test the strength of Victor Ortiz's chin very early in their contest. The two boxers are set to face each other on January 30th in Fox Sports televised fight from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Ortiz (29-4-2, 22KOs).
Ortiz has been out of action since June 2012, when he suffered a badly broken jaw against Josesito Lopez in the ninth. Prior to that, Ortiz was knocked out in four by Floyd Mayweather Jr. in September 2011. Ortiz has had to undergo a lot of rehabilitation for the injury to his jaw.
Collazo has been very active, with three fights under his belt during Ortiz's layoff.
"My main goal will be to get in the ring and try to frustrate and test how strong his jaw is. I have not taken any time away from boxing, but Victor has. I just hope that he's ready to work. This fight will define my future ... especially in Brooklyn, which is my home. I will not lose in my home, I will not lose in Brooklyn," said Collazo to Jose Gordian.
