Gennady Golovkin’s reputation as a power puncher is clear — he’s knocked out 27 of his 30 opponents, including a third-round stoppage of Daniel Geale on Saturday night.

“There’s no question about Gennady’s punching power, but there’s also, I think after tonight, no question about his chin,” Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions said at the post-fight press conference.

“He was in one of the biggest punchers, Curtis Stevens, in the middleweight division [last year] and didn’t get affected,” Loeffler said. “And after Daniel valiantly and bravely threw a big punch, and Gennady countered it, there’s just nobody who can stand up to his punching power — but also shows what kind of punch he can take and is willing to take and put on an exciting and impressive performance.”
