In his last two outings in Texas, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has drawn nearly 70,000 fans against Austin Trout in San Antonio and this past weekend versus James Kirkland in Houston. It has certainly gotten the attention of Tom Loeffler, managing director of K2 Promotions, who has guided the career of Gennady Golovkin so deftly.

Loeffler makes it clear that hitting 'the Lone Star' state is a possibility for 'GGG'.

"When Gennady was fighting in New York I had so many requests from the California fans - I'm based on California - 'when are you going to bring 'Triple G' to California?' Now that he's pretty much established himself as the biggest boxing attraction that fights here in California, I've had the same requests from the Texas fans.

"If Gennady ever fought 'Canelo', whether it's San Antonio, whether it's Dallas at Cowboy Stadium - 'Canelo' and Kirkland sold 31,000 tickets - you can imagine 'Canelo' and 'Triple G' would sell 40, 50, 60,000 tickets. So that would be a huge event. That would be something we'd really look forward to."
