At the Ulster Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland, a battle of undefeated fighters saw Martin Lindsay (14-0, 6KOs) stop Paul Appleby (14-1, 9KOs) in the sixth round to capture the BBBofC British featherweight title.

Appleby came out with combinations in the first, but was quickly countered by Lindsay's sharper right hands. Lindsay started to take over the fight in the second round by landing the more accurate punches. Appleby went on the defensive in the third and tried to slow Lindsay down with body punches.

Lindsay went back on the attack in the fourth, pounding Appleby against the ropes. The champion tried to stand his ground in the fifth, trading big punches in an effort to land something big upstairs. During the sixth, Lindsay had the champ in all sorts of trouble after a huge right hand. The ref jumped in when Appleby was not throwing back enough punches and appeared to be in a daze.
