David Allen will get a second crack at the Commonwealth title.
The Conisbrough heavyweight lost his first fight for the belt last May.
Allen was outpointed by Lenroy Thomas at Bramall Lane, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office.
But he has been handed a lifeline by promoter Eddie Hearn after an agreement was reached with the 32-year-old Jamaican for a rematch.
The fight is set to be confirmed by Matchroom on Wednesday and will form part of the supporting cast to Kell Brook’s return against Sergey Rabchenko on March 3, at Sheffield’s FlyDSA Arena, exclusively live on Sky Sports.
The first fight between the pair ended with scorecards of 112-115, 115-113 & 114-115.
And Allen, a former challenger for the WBC International heavyweight title who has been out of the ring since stopping Tom Dallas last July, will be hoping to right the wrong at the first opportunity.
The card, named ‘Rise Again’, will feature Sam Eggington in his super-welterweight debut after losing his European welterweight title to Mohamed Mimoune last October before admitting that he can no longer make the 147-pound limit.
Also on the card, Gavin McDonnell will challenge Gamal Yafai for the WBC International super-bantamweight title and Boxing Scene understands that Dave Coldwell-trained Jordan Gill will box on the bill, with further additions to be revealed in due course.
