David Benavidez has no shortage of HUGE fights on his radar. In an exclusive interview with BoxingScene, Jose Benavidez Sr. makes it clear that David still wants the biggest names at 175lbs including Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev. Benavidez has previously said those are two fights he wants to make as he pursues more titles and major challenges. But there’s another name that could make things very interesting: Andy Ruiz Jr. Jose discusses the possibility of an all-Mexican showdown between Benavidez and the former heavyweight champion, along with David’s plans across multiple divisions. And with a potential Jai Opetaia showdown also building after the pair came face-to-face following Opetaia’s latest victory, Benavidez has some massive options ahead.

ProboxTV’s championship series is now on the ProBoxTV YouTube channel for $5/month.

Matchroom BoxingHeavyweight Thomas Carty required a brain scan following Saturday’s heavyweight bout with Dave Allen at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland.
The contest had barely begun when Carty tumbled through the ropes and out of the ring in the opening round, triggering confusion from observers when the no-contest was subsequently called.
Carty’s team have accused Allen, 27-9-2-1 NC (20 KOs), of throwing punches to the back of their man’s head, causing the discombobulation that resulted in Carty plummeting from the ring. It is understood Carty is now seeking a disqualification victory as a consequence.
Carty, 11-1-1 NC (9 KOs), spent time in hospital afterwards with a suspected concussion but is now recovering at home.
"After just one minute and 30 seconds of Round 1 Thomas Carty had received 2 illegal blows to the back of his head in last night’s contest at Croke Park on the Katie Taylor undercard,” the southpaw’s team wrote.
“The second blow causing Thomas a momentarily lapse forcing Thomas to reach for the ropes to regain his balance and the loose ropes gave way propelling Thomas head first out of the ring causing him to strike his head on a ringside table.
“In turn this caused Thomas a suspected concussion and unfortunately an end to this fight on instructions from the ringside Doctor.
“After spending time at the hospital and receiving a brain scan Thomas is now at home recovering and more importantly healthy.”
