WBO #2 cruiserweight Denis Lebedev (22-1, 17 KOs) is training hard for his upcoming battle with ring legend James “Lights Out” Toney (73-6-3, 44 KOs) on November 4 in Moscow, Russia. Team Lebedev placed their camp at the “Blue Town” training center on the outskirts of Chekhov in the Moscow Region. Lebedev is being prepared by another boxing icon and Hall-of-Famer, Kostya Tszyu. The chief sparring partner for the Russian hard-hitter is Bahamian heavyweight Sherman “Tank” Williams (34-11-2, 19 KOs).
Lebedev on Williams: “Sherman has positively surprised me tonight. I used to train with traditional fighters, like Slava – another of my sparring partners. They move from side to side, make feints. Williams is absolutely different. He is awkward. I haven’t even been able to re-group myself and to adjust to this guy. He is a good guy and a good boxer and he helped me a lot.”.
