According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea is making a play to host the fall heavyweight clash, between WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko and mandatory challenger Tyson Fury, at Stamford Bridge in September or October.

Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium is also under consideration says the paper, but Stamford Bridge is currently a more likely option.

But there are some concerns over damaging the playing field during a busy time in the CFC season. Chelsea has reportedly carried out tests at their training ground to see what effect the pitch covering would have on the grass.

The promoters are under the gun to reach a deal, as purse bids have been scheduled for next month.

Fury’s uncle and trainer, Peter Fury, told the paper that his nephew will begin training next week.

"If they reach an agreement or go to purse bids there will be a fight either way so we have to be ready."
