Amir Khan has revealed that he actually spoke to his friend, Money Kicks, about the possibility of having an exhibition fight - prior to the social media star being linked to a possible exhibition with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Retired undefeated pound-for-pound star, Mayweather, confirmed earlier this month that he would be competing in an exhibition on the helipad of the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai on February 20, with Money Kicks - real name Rashed Belhasa - recently stating that they were in the final stage of negotiations.
Khan, who finally settles his rivalry with Kell Brook on February 19, admits he discussed the idea of an exhibition with the 20-year-old and believes he will go “all guns blazing” against the boxing legend, who faced Youtube star Logan Paul in an exhibition in June of last year.
“I know Money Kicks really well,” Khan told Pro Boxing Fans.
“It’s funny because I was speaking to him about doing maybe an exhibition fight one day and then next thing I found out that he’s doing the Mayweather one.
“I mean look, Money Kicks is a good kid, he’s very respectful. I know his Dad really well, his dad’s a really nice guy, Saif Belhasa. They are a very nice family, very nice people and look this is a massive opportunity for Money Kicks. Rashed will go in there and give him his best. I mean look, he’s fighting a multi-time world champion, one of the best out there ever.
“So for him it’s an experience to share the ring with one of the best out there and also to share the ring at the top of the Burj Al Arab, it’s going to be amazing, [the] helipad on there it’s going to be massive. So good luck to him, well done to him. It takes a lot of bottle for someone who hasn’t had many fights as a boxer.
“Money Kicks is going to go in there all guns blazing. This is boxing, anything can happen in boxing. I don’t think it will happen [Money Kicks winning] but you just never know and I do wish Money Kicks all the very best, because he’s a very nice guy and he’s a friend of mine.”
