Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) has no interest in saying anything nice about WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs).
Khan is obviously upset over Mayweather's decision to face Andre Berto on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Towards the midway point of 2013, Khan began his campaign of attempting to land a Mayweather fight. He skipped out on a title fight in late 2013, believing he would face Mayweather in May of 2014. He was passed over for Marcos Maidana. Khan saw action on the undercard of that card and dominated Luis Collazo.
He then felt the showcase on Mayweather's undercard would build up a fight for September 2014 and he was passed over once again for Maidana.
Khan had no issue with Mayweather facing Manny Pacquiao in May, but he felt insult to injury when Mayweather picked his gym stablemate, Berto.
"I’m obviously disappointed he’s not taking the fight and he’s avoiding me again. But, he’s trying to retire after this fight. I really feel he’ll be remembered after this fight as a great. I’ll never have great things to say about him because he’s ducked me for so many years," Khan said to Sporting News.
