When the time is right, Bolton's Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) is eager to punish his domestic rival Kell Brook (34-0, 25KOs), who holds the IBF welterweight title.
Brook is going to return on a tentative date of October 24th, possibly against Diego Chaves. Khan is going to come back in the fall, in November or December.
If both continue to win, Khan believes a fight with Brook can take place in the summer of 2016 at Wembley Stadium.
A few weeks ago Khan held talks with Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn. A fight between Khan and Brook is one of the bigger matches to be made, if not the biggest, on UK soil. Hearn has a very good relationship with Khan's adviser, Al Haymon. Two of Hearn's top fighters, champions James DeGale and Lee Selby, have signed with Haymon in recent weeks.
"That’s a fight I would love to have in the future," said Khan to Sky Sports. "Somewhere like Wembley would definitely sell out for that fight.
"It’s a fight that everyone has wanted for years and years. It can potentially be one of the biggest fights in Britain.
"That’s the reason I want the fight is to prove a point and give him a beating and put him in his place really, so then everyone in the UK knows who the best welterweight is."
