Bolton fighter Amir Khan (30-3, 19KOs) has continued to react to Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s recent jabs about "not being a big enough name." Khan is pushing to fight Mayweather on May 2nd of next year, but Mayweather recently said Khan's name doesn't carry "enough weight."
Khan believes he has a bigger name than Mayweather in certain countries and a fight between the two of them will only help Mayweather become a bigger name in those regions, similar to how Mayweather's fight with Ricky Hatton made him a bigger name in the UK.
"The other night I think he did 4,000 [attendance], so, Amir Khan, his name holds no weight," Mayweather said at the World Boxing Council convention. "No one knows who Amir Khan is, except for people who are involved in boxing."
Mayweather says that he wants a fight with Manny Pacquiao. Very few expect a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight to actually happen.
"I am known in places like India, Pakistan, Dubai and the UAE where they don't even know who Mayweather is. India has a billion people, Pakistan has 180 million people and I can't even walk down the street there. I am bigger than Mayweather in a lot of places and I can help him become more famous, and earn more money," Khan said.
