Former world champion Amir Khan believes Anthony Joshua has to go for the kill if he intends to defeat Tyson Fury in a potential unification encounter.
The teams behind Joshua and Fury are having ongoing discussions to finalize a two-fight agreement for 2021.
Currently, Joshua is contracted to make a defense of the IBF, WBA, WBO, IBO world titles against Kubrat Pulev. And Fury has to make a defense against Deontay Wilder in a trilogy fight.
Both contests are going to take place before the end of the year.
Because of Fur's technical abilities, Khan would tab Joshua to win under one scenario - that he comes in there ready to secure a knockout win.
As others have stated, Joshua will have to end things early, because many feel the longer the fight plays out the less of a chance he has to win.
“Fury-Joshua, what a fight that’ll be. It’ll be good for boxing. I think it will, yeah, because they both want to prove who the best is in the UK. It’s a UK fight, and it’ll be massive. I think it will because they both want to prove a point, and they want to show who number one is," Khan said to Fighthype.com.
“They don’t just want to win. Joshua and Fury intend to succeed properly to say, and they don’t want to win and have a close fight. The two of them want to make sure that they won easily.
"I think when it comes to technique and being technical, and then you have Fury by a mile. I think AJ has to go in there and go for the kill. He [Joshua] might be stronger, and he might be the harder hitter, but he has to go in there hoping he’ll win the fight.”
