IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook is still in shock that Amir Khan turned him down in favor of moving up in weight to challenge Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez for the WBC middleweight title.
The camps behind Khan and Brook were in serious talks earlier this year, but those negotiations fell through when Khan made a shock announcement that he was moving up by eight pounds, to a catch-weight of 155, to face Canelo on May 7th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Brook is set to face mandatory challenger Kevin Bizer on March 26th in Sheffield.
There are a lot of pundits and insiders who share Brook's opinion, that Khan should have faced him instead.
"I was upset but it was going on for that long," Brook told Sky Sports when asked about the failed attempts to make the Khan fight. "It was close to happening before, but this time, I thought it was going to happen. Then he decided to step up to middleweight and fight Canelo."
"It doesn't make sense. He said he was a welterweight and he wanted to win a world title... I am a world champion, we're both from Britain so we could have got it on."
Because of injuries, Brook is only making his third defense of the title that he captured from Shawn Porter in August of 2014.
Bizier is a big underdog, especially since Brook already demolished Jo Jo Dan last year, and Dan holds two wins over Bizier.
"Everybody's writing off this Bizier but I think he's been training like an animal and anyone who is challenging for a world title, they are coming to bring it," said Brook. "Expect fireworks. I've trained hard for a long time, so I am going to do my stuff, maybe chuck in some bombs!"
