Kell Brook 33-0 (22KOs) will headline a card featuring some of the biggest names in British boxing on December 6 at the Motorpoint Arena in his hometown of Sheffield, England.

The show will be a homecoming for Brook as he makes the first defence of the IBF welterweight title he captured against Shawn Porter over in America earlier this month.

With U.S premium cable networks HBO and Showtime both interested in broadcasting this event, opponents such as Robert Guerrero, Josesito Lopez, Andre Berto and Brandon Rios are all being considered.

BoxingScene.com understands that rematch between bitter rivals Tony Bellew 22-2-1 (14KOs) and Nathan Cleverly 24-1 (15KOs) will be chief support. The contest has been provisionally slated for either October 11 in London or November 29 in Liverpool in the past but now appears destined for Sheffield

The pair first met in 2011 with Cleverly’s WBO light heavyweight title at stake, which the Welshman retained via majority decision in a highly competitive fight. Since suffering knockout losses -to Sergey Kovalev and Adonis Stevenson respectively- both men have moved up to cruiserweight and have been on an inevitable collision course since Nathan Cleverly parted company with former promoter Frank Warren, earlier this year.

It is believed that James DeGale 19-1 (13KOs) will also be in action ahead of a domestic super fight with Carl Froch early next year. DeGale became the mandatory challenger for the “Cobra” by stopping the previously unbeaten Brandon Gonzales in the fourth round on the undercard of  Froch-Groves II. “Chunky” will look to build momentum before attempting to become the first British Olympic Gold medallist to win a professional world title in the new year.

Fellow Olympic Gold medallist, Anthony Joshua 7-0 (7KOs) will continue his progression in the paid ranks as BoxingScene.com understands that veteran Michael Sprott is likely to be the man in the opposite corner. Former British and Commonwealth champion, Sprott, will be looking to Joshua past the second round for the fist time in his career.

Further details of the card are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
