ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. —Atlantic City may not be the international fight hub it once was, but Justin Figueroa is giving local fans something to get excited about.

The 26-year-old junior middleweight sent the fans home happy on Friday, stopping Jose Perdomo after the fourth round of their eight-round main event at Tropicana Hotel and Casino.

Figueroa, now 14-0 (11 KOs), dropped Perdomo, 9-8 (5 KOs), near the end of the fourth with a left hook, at which point the 31-year-old from Uruguay elected to remain on his stool.

The win earns Figueroa the NABF junior 154lbs title, which is a step in the right direction for the eight-round fighter.

It was an easy night for “Mr. Atlantic City” Figueroa, who stalked the tentative Perdomo for the first two rounds, poking at him with jabs and the occasional body shots.

Matters turned serious in a hurry, as Figueroa dropped Perdomo with the first heavy punch he landed, leading to the finish. Figueroa celebrated the knockout with his trademark worm dance.

The fight headlined a Boxing Insider Promotions card which aired live on DAZN.
