Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is very pleased with the services of veteran trainer Robert Garcia. Chavez Jr. will fight on July 18 at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas, against Marco "Dorado" Reyes in a clash at super middleweight which is going to be aired on Showtime.

Chavez Jr. hopes to get his hands on a title shot against WBC super middleweight champion Badou Jack, who defends against George Groves in August.

The fight will be the first for Chavez since lost by way of technical knockout at the hands of Andrzej Fonfara in April. He was trained by Joe Goossen for that fight.

"The advantage is that Robert has always been watching my fights. He already knew my shortcomings when it comes to getting to work with him. He didn't try to change everything, but only made adjustments to my style, things that will serve me well. I have really bonded well with him. It took a while but in the end we are working with him," Chavez Jr. told ESPN Deportes.

"I'm very happy with the work that we have done. I will prove that I was right to go with Robert Garcia. Everything has been good in all aspects, hard work, a good strategy, and we have corrected many errors."
