James Prince informed BoxingScene.com on Monday that he has signed unbeaten junior welterweight prospect Julian Rodriguez to a managerial contract.

The 23-year-old Rodriguez, of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, is 16-0, including 10 knockouts. He battled a shoulder injury last year that limited him to one fight in 2017 – a six-round, unanimous-decision win against Mexico’s Dario Ferman (14-4, 11 KOs) on September 8 in Philadelphia.

Rodriguez’s nagging injury most recently forced him to withdraw from a fight on the Murat Gassiev-Krzysztof Wlodarczyk undercard October 21 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Rodriguez, who won a national Golden Gloves title at 141 pounds in 2013, has been promoted by Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc. since he turned pro in September 2013. He previously was managed by Pat Lynch, with whom Rodriguez parted ways last summer.

Prince was the co-manager for Andre Ward until the undefeated former two-division champion retired in September. He also is the co-manager of heavyweight contender Bryant Jennings.

Rodriguez's stellar amateur career that included a 2013 National Golden Gloves title, a 2012 U.S. Amateur Championships silver medal and a spot as an alternate on the 2012 U.S. Olympic team. The 22-year-old has continued to impress since turning pro in 2013, delivering knockouts in nine of his first 10 fights. Rodriguez has picked up victories over Jerry Belmontes and Dario Ferman in 2017.
