The return of former four-division world champion is imminent. Juan Manuel Marquez, nearly 42-years-old, has been out of the ring since last May's twelve round decision win over Mike Alvarado in Los Angeles.

In recent weeks Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs) has been training at the Romanza gym, under the watchful eye of trainer Nacho Beristain. The knee is still not 100%, but no longer gives him any pain during training exercises or sparring sessions.

Marquez says he is only a few weeks away from making a concrete decision on his future and whether he or not he plans to fight in the fall.

"We are doing well. I'm focused as always, and give 100% during training. Training is going very well, and let's see what happens," said Marquez to ESPN Deportes. "There is no date [set for a return fight]. Once I make a decision, and determine that I will return, then we will look at opponents."
