Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs), 41-years-old, is still getting back in shape and starting to get a good physical rhythm in the gym.
Marquez has been inactive since last May's twelve round decision win over Mike Alvarado.
Marquez has been dealing with a lingering knee injury which prevented several planned return dates. Marquez has been training under the watch of coach Nacho Beristain and so far the knee, and the rest of his body, is holding up.
Numerous fighters have expressed interest in facing Marquez. Should he return, Manny Pacquiao, Brandon Rios, IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook, Amir Khan, and Danny Garcia have all expressed serious interest in getting Marquez in the ring.
"Somehow they know what happened in my career. My win over Pacquiao remains important and everyone wants to fight me, well almost everyone," Marquez told ESPN Deportes. "But I have to see how I feel and see how I am physically. Despite the inactivity, I've been told that a lot of good fighters have indicated that they want to fight me and that's a good omen. But as I said, that is very important but more important is my physical condition, my health."
