The next big heavyweight fight has an international referee that satisfies both sides of the coin.
Giuseppe Quartarone has been confirmed as the referee for the upcoming unification between WBA, IBO, IBF champion Anthony Joshua and WBO champion Joseph Parker.
The two undefeated heavyweights will collide at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on March 31, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
Quartarone has experience with UK fights. He previously oversaw bouts involving Scott Quigg, Martin Murray and Enzo Maccarinelli.
There was some concern over which referee would get the assignment, after what transpired in Joshua's last contest. Many fans felts referee Phil Edwards was way too quick in stopping the contest with Carlos Takam in the tenth round. Joshua seemed to be tiring in the later stages of the fight. Takam was coming on strong when he got buzzed during the tenth, as Joshua was attempting to finish - Edwards jumped in a bit too quick.
Parker's trainer Kevin Barry has no problem with referee or other officials that were selected for the fight.
"We're very happy with the officials that have been appointed," Barry told Sky Sports.
"We've got three judges - one from New Zealand, one from the UK, one from the United States.
"We've got an Italian referee. We signed off on those officials [at the beginning of March]. We're very happy with what the various sanctioning bodies have appointed for us."
Also scheduled for the big card, former world champion Anthony Crolla faces Edson Ramirez. Ryan Burnett defends his WBA World Bantamweight crown against Yonfrez Parejo and Alexander Povetkin puts his WBA Inter-Continental and WBO International titles against Liverpool favourite David Price, Josh Kelly also goes for his first belt against former IBF World champion Carlos Molina for the WBA International Welterweight title and Welshman Joe Cordina fights for his first pro title with the WBA International Lightweight belt on the line against Andy Townend.
