José Miguel Cotto is most likely making his last appearance at 140 pounds on Friday at the 'Solo Boxeo Tecate" event being staged in Cataño and is contemplating a move to the welterweight division in 2011, despite having an offer to challenge Victor Ortiz.

"I understand that 140 pounds is my best weight for my height but I have to work hard [to get to the weight]. But I think it is my last [fight] at this weight. I will not fight anymore at 140 because it is very difficult to make the weight. I think I'm going for 147. I'm 33-years-old and my body is not like it was before, where I can just drop six or seven pounds," Cotto said.

He said he was 196 pounds at the start of camp and has lost about 50 pounds.

"It's hard to make this weight. I heard that they want to give me Victor Ortiz at this weight but the sacrifice is too much for it to get done. I'll look at the possibilities and see what can be done. This fight on Friday, I accepted because I thought that I could make it. I'm still missing about six pounds but have to work hard to see if I make the weight for tomorrow," Cotto said.

Cotto, a record of 31-2-1 and 23 knockouts, had his last brawl on May 1 losing by technical knockout to prospect Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in a fight which took place in the junior middleweight division, but Cotto came close to a knockout in the first round.

"I fought two divisions above, and I was about to knock him out but I couldn't finish him," Cotto said.
