Sycuan Ringside Promotions’ undefeated Jorge Paez Jr. upped his record to 13-0 with a one-sided unanimous decision over Jamie Alvardo Friday on a nationally televised card at the Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The 19-year-old Paez Jr., who now has a record of 13-0 and eight knockouts, won all six rounds on the three judges’ scorecards.
Paez Jr., whose father, Jorge Paez Sr., was the International Boxing Federation lightweight champion during 1988 to 1990, weighed in approximately five pound over his usual lightweight limit, as a 140 1/4-pound welterweight.
The 30-year-old Alvarado, from Fort Wayne, Ind., now has a mark of 7-5-2 with four knockouts.
It was the first fight of 2007 for Paez Jr. His next bout will be March 16 on “Tribal Pride 2,” a Univision-televised card at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., co-promoted by Sycuan Ringside Promotions and Seminole Warriors Boxing Promotions.
