Jorge Diaz (15-0, 9 KOs), a New Brunswick native who trains at the Joe Grier Boxing Academy in Paterson, and Philadelphia’s Teon Kennedy (16-0-1, 7 KOs) will square off March 26 in Atlantic City in a 12-round fight for Kennedy’s USBA 122-pound title. The battle between unbeaten prospects won’t be televised by HBO that night, but Diaz realizes that Kennedy stands between him and a world title shot.
"I’m very excited about this fight," Diaz, 23, said. "This is going to be a fun fight."

The Diaz-Kennedy bout will be part of an undercard beneath a main even that’ll pit rising Cuban star Yuriorkis Gamboa (19-0, 15 KOs) against Mexico’s Jorge Solis (40-2-2, 29 KOs, 1 NC) in a featherweight championship fight. That 12-round bout for Gamboa’s WBA and IBF 126-pound titles will be broadcast by HBO.
