Johnny Tapia's gravesite in Albuquerque now has a unique memorial, thanks to family and friends of the late boxer.

KOB-TV reports ( http://bit.ly/U4Bmyo) a small replica boxing ring has been set up at the site to pay tribute to the five-time champion.

Councilman Ken Sanchez says he'll consider other options, like proposing to name a room or gym after Tapia.

The 45-year-old boxer was found dead May 27 at his Albuquerque home. His turbulent boxing career was marked by cocaine addiction, alcohol, depression and run-ins with the law. Tapai's family says he died from heart disease and high blood pressure.
