John Molina Jr. faces WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco later tonight in Oakland, CA. The fight is the co-featured fight underneath the Andre Ward-Chad Dawson main event. Molina agrees with the observers who feel that his fight against DeMarco will end up stealing the show.
"The show has already been stolen," Molina told BoxingScene's official audio show, The Boxing Lab. "I believe that has already happened. Our fight can't miss."
While Molina expects his fight to be a great fight, he doesn't think the main event will be the dull fight that some insiders and fans feel it has a good chance to become.
"I think it will be a tactical fight but I wouldn't say boring. Look at how he (Ward) fought Allan Green. I know Green and Dawson are too different beasts but I think he could do that again. Go back to watch that fight and Green has the look like how are you doing this? You are kicking my ass.
"I know we are in the same stable but I think he's the better fighter. He wasn't supposed to beat Kessler. He wasn't supposed to beat Froch that easy. Abraham was supposed to give him problems and he ran right through the Super Six. That shows you how good a fighter Ward is," Molina concluded.
