In the next two weeks, Joe Calzaghe (46-0, 32KOs) is expected to make an important announcement about the path of his career. Joe will let the world know if he plans to continue fighting. Last we heard Calzaghe was leaning in the direction of retirement. There are still a lot of fighters calling him out from multiple weight divisions. If Calzaghe decides to stick around in the sport, he's going to try and land the most lucrative option.

The Top Five Options

IBF light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson - The fight everyone wants to see Joe take. Is there enough money in a Dawson fight to make Calzaghe sign the contract? Dawson has the hot hand and recently signed a two fight deal with HBO. Dawson is going to rematch Antonio Tarver in March as part of the new deal with HBO. The network hopes the exposure and an impressive performance may be enough to get Calzaghe in the ring with the unbeaten young lion.

WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler - Calzaghe decisioned Kessler to unify the super middleweight division in 2007. Kessler is regarded as the man to beat at 168. He wants a Calzaghe rematch. The fight is not worth a lot in America, but it's worth a ton in Kessler's backyard of Denmark.

Light Heavyweight Contender Bernard Hopkins - Calzaghe won a close split decision over Hopkins in April and the fight wasn't pretty to watch. But, Bernard is back in the mix after dominating previously undefeated Kelly Pavlik, a man many saw as Calzaghe's main target for 2009. The problem is not making the fight. The problem is getting HBO or Showtime to put up enough money for a fight that most people don't ever want to see again.

IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham - Abraham is struggling to make weight at 160-pounds and a move to 168 is coming by the end of next year. If Abraham fights and beats Kelly Pavlik, a catch-weight fight with Calzaghe would generate a lot of money with the various television networks in America, Germany and England.

WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch - The unbeaten thorn in Calzaghe's side for the last two years. Froch is making a name for himself and recently put on a fight of the year performance in his title win against Jean Pascal. The fight can generate some decent money in England, but are the American networks interested? HBO doesn't seem to care about a fight between Froch and Jermain Taylor, they probably won't care about Calzaghe-Froc, and Calzaghe likely won't make fight without HBO involved.
