Auditorio Bicentenario, Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico - Former multi-division world champion Jhonny Gonzalez (58-9, 49 KOs) recovered from his bruising March loss, by knocking out Kazuki Hashimoto (11-5, 7 KOs) of Japan in the second round.

The fight was Gonzalez's super featherweight debut. He aims to gets a world title shot against WBC champion Takashi Miura of Japan.

Back in March, Gonzalez lost his WBC featherweight crown when he was easily stopped by the much faster Gary Russell Jr. Gonzalez said he was willing to come back to featherweight for the right opportunity, like a fight with the winner of the upcoming fight between Abner Mares and Leo Santa Cruz.
