Four-time world champion Jhonny Gonzalez returned in force with a big knockout of Venzuelan Rafael 'El Potro' Hernandez.

The South American wanted to surprise González by changing his natural stance to a left-handed guard, however the veteran had the resources to counter the strategy of Hernandez, who went to the canvas in the second round from the result of a powerful combination of Jhonny.

Effective and potent combinations rained down on Hernandez, who tried to use the ropes to roll with the blows and was cunning in his actions.

However, a powerful hook to the liver by Gonzalez, made the difference in the fifth round and saw Hernandez go down - to hear the full count of the referee who declared him out of action.

In the co-featured bout, two young prospects were throwing constant bombs in toe to toe warfare to provide a great display for eight dramatic rounds when Bryan 'Destructor' Mercado and Durango's Diego Andrade Jr. collided in the ring.

The battle did not disappoint the fans in a brawl of give and take between two strikers; and that kept fans on the edge of theirs seats.

At the end of the bloody battle the judges ruled 76-75, 76-76 and 76-75 in favor of  Mercado of Mexico City by majority decision.
