FILIPINO welterweight journeyman, Jesar Ancajas, scored a knockdown and inflicted a cut against his Aussie foe en route to his first win in four straight outings in New South Wales, Australia over the weekend.

Ancajas, a 23-year old native of Davao City, earned a majority decision win over six rounds against upcoming local fighter Adrian Campbell on Friday night at Panthers World Entertainment Center in Penrith, NSW.

Two judges saw it 58-56 both in favor of the Filipino, who floored Campbell in the opening bell and inflicted a cut from vicious punch to the Aussie’s eye in the third round. The third judged had it a draw, 57-57.

Ancajas fought in Australia for the first time on March 27 when he lasted for only five minutes and two seconds against veteran Lovemore N'Dou for the IBF Pan Pacific light welterweight title.

His succeeding defeats was a 3rd round knockout to former Australian lightweight king John Cotterill Jr in Gosford town on May 13 and a technical decision in the 5th round against a young undefeated fighter named Paul Wahlberg, last July 1 in Bankstown.

Also on Friday at the RSL Club in Auburn, Robert Oyan Oliveros took his third loss in four bouts this year Down Under, when undefeated Mohammed Elomar earned a majority decision over six rounds in their bout.
