British star Amir Khan (28-3, 19KOs) is still being named as the frontrunner to face pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26KOs) on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Khan is already being labeled as a huge underdog, but the former champion's trainer, Virgil Hunter, says his fighter is a very live dog in the contest and he is confident that Khan's performance in a fight with Mayweather will surprise a lot of people.

"I told him that if he would dedicate himself to the sport of boxing and dedicate himself to the repetitions and the commitment to correct some of his flaws....he certainly has the ability to make it a very interesting fight. Now a lot of people won't agree with that. By no means is he going to be out of this fight. I think it's going to be a very surprising fight," Hunter said.
