WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck has been presented with two choices for his next title defense, tentative for late October or early November. Chris Meyer, General Manager for Sauerland Event, has given Huck two choices - a rematch with top contender Denis Lebedev or a fight with Rogelio Rossi, who is ranked at #15 by the WBO. Huck won a close split decision over Lebedev in 2010. If he goes with Lebedev, the WBO will count it as a mandatory defense, but Rossi will only count as a voluntary.
"We talked this through with Vladimir Hryunov, the manager Denis Lebedev, before Alexander Povetkin's fight with Ruslan Chagaev. And the fight could take place in late October. We have already talked this through with Huck, and offering him two choices - a fight with Lebedev or a fight with Argentinean Rogelio Rossi. Right now we are waiting for his reply. If he goes against Lebedev, it will be a mandatory defense, but against Rossi it would be a voluntary," Meyer told reporter Alexander Pavlov.
