Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom has given his take on the recent social media controversy involving the account of heavyweight superstar Anthony Joshua.
Hearn called the incidents a "major problem" and says the boxer's accounts, on Instragram and Snapchat, have been hacked.
Eyebrows were raised in the last week, after there were controversial private messages sent from Joshua's Instagram account to heavyweight contender Eddie Chambers. And there was a statement appearing to support former Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe on Joshua's Snapchat account.
While there were many who felt Joshua was the culprit, Hearn assures the accounts in question were accessed by hackers.
Hearn says there are several other examples of Joshua's accounts being manipulated that have yet to become public knowledge.
"He's got a major problem with his social media accounts. If you look online, there are plenty of other pieces floating around allegedly from Anthony Joshua to other people as well. AJ's team are looking into it. He's got some major problems with his accounts. No disrespect to Eddie Chambers but he isn't really on the radar," Hearn told IFL TV.
"There have been other people who've received messages who you won't know about because as far as I'm concerned, if you get a message from another man -- not necessarily threatening you but man-on-man -- why would you put it out publicly?
"The other people who have received messages from AJ haven't put it out and that's been dealt with, but this guy obviously thinks Christmas has come early and gets it all out there. You will hear from AJ when he gets back from Dubai. His team have made a statement to the press and he's got a problem with his accounts. A number of things have happened with it and some of them have been quite funny and some of them haven't."
Joshua was last seen in action back in October, when he stopped mandatory challenger Carlos Takam before a crowd of 78,000 at Principality in Cardiff, Wales.
