On Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, Chris Eubank Jr. (21-1, 16KOs) battered domestic rival Spike O'Sullivan for a seventh round TKO victory in a WBA final middleweight eliminator.

The victory makes Eubank the mandatory challenger to WBA "regular" middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs (31-1, 28KOs), who last week retained his title with a first round stoppage of unbeaten Peter Quillin.

Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, who promote Eubank, is unsure as to when the fight with Jacobs will take place.

"When the WBA calls the mandatory. It could be three months, could be six months, could be nine months," Hearn explained.

"If the team tells me to go and push for that fight, I think we could make it happen next. It was part of the resolution of [WBA President] Gilberto Mondoza with the middleweight title, that the winner of this fight would fight the winner of Jacobs-Quillin."

If it was completely up to Hearn, he would prefer to continue building Eubank's credentials with the British public. He views Eubank as a future pay-per-view superstar in the UK.

"I'd like to build Christopher even more. Tonight was a huge night for him, a big audience, unbelievable pay-per-view buys just to let you know.  A great platform, 17,000 people at the 02 and they all enjoyed what they saw. For me, if its not Jacobs next then I would like for him to headline his own show on the regular Sky platform, allowing him to grow as a fighter," Hearn said.
